Kids Code Camp 2021

Each year, here at Mindfire Technology partnered with Utah Geek Events, we host a super fun event, called Kids Code Camp. We do this for a few reasons. First, it is fun for us, but more importantly we feel it is crucial to engage with the youth and help them learn skills that can greatly benefit their future, as well as provide safe and entertaining activities that everyone can enjoy. This event is taught by many of our very own software developers, who work in this industry every day.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics published that in May 2020 the median annual wage for software developers was $110,140. And according to the United States Census Bureau the median household income in 2019 was $68,703. So, software developers tend to land well above average for income in the United States. If you asked us if this was a good career to go into, based on those numbers alone the answer would be a solid, yes. Not to mention the fact that it is a rapidly growing industry, projected to grow 22 percent from 2019 to 2029 by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
On the surface software development can seem overwhelming to get started in, but it can actually be very simple and fun. The goal of Kids Code Camp is to introduce kids to an amazing career path in an incredibly fun way, even using games when possible. We all want our kids to succeed in life, and here at Mindfire Technology, we believe that a great way for them to succeed is with Code.
Our yearly Kids Code Camp is happening on July 22nd 9am-3pm. We are covering all kinds of fun platforms this year. In previous years this was an in-person event, but with recent health concerns still being prevalent we have decided to make this year’s Kids Code Camp an all-online event.
