Business Objective:

Our client wanted to automate the process of coordinating physicians, nurses, IV services, rehabilitation services, medication deliveries, etc. The process was extremely manual before the application was built, done mostly via personal phone calls, faxes and texts. This is a small list of necessary features:

• Ability to manage multiple users, stakeholders and user types (providers, nurses, care coordinators, etc.)
• Seamless service order requests from providers to service providers
• Ability for Care Coordinator to coordinate services without direct, person-to-person communication
• Automated notifications to and from multiple stakeholders HIPAA Compliant Infrastructure

Challenges:

The application didn't involve many highly technical operations, but there were a few things that took some thinking:

• Creating an email client using razor views to create emails dynamically
• Database modeling
• Integrating ASP.Net identity with the invite-based user creation process.
• Creating a User Experience that was intuitive and user-friendly
• Creating a document upload section with specific document type white-listing
• Creating permissions rules specific to each user

Solution:

The Coordin8 Care application came together as a beautiful, responsive application that is used equally on desktops and mobile devices. It was imperative that users have the ability to create/change/cancel orders and document completed services with ease. Our client is spending way less time on the phone and the end results have seen a marked efficiency increase.
